Blurry sunset

I got bored while "doing homework". This was what happened. I was originally going for a sunset look, but I'm not sure anymore... The open eye version looks like something you'd find at a circus. It's a shame really. I like sunsets.

Don't hate on the editing. It's better this way and you know it.

It was a pain in the ass to wash away -.-

I sent a pizza to my friend who's as an exchange student in the US as a birthday gift last week. I'm quite proud of that actually. And this people, is why you want me as your friend. I order free pizzas for you if I haven't seen you for 9 months.

Seven Deadly Sins: Pride

My beauty is superior to yours....

Pride. "The original sin". The blindest sin of them all. You do not see any good in others, you barely see them at all. All you have eyes for is yourself in all your glory. Looks, accomplishments, you know the gist. It is the opposite of envy. The proud love themselves and would not change a single thing about them. If anyone disagrees, well they're just simply wrong.
It was said to be the deadliest sin from which the others emerged, failing to see God as superior and therefore being sent straight to hell. (a good example is Lucifer aka Satan)

The color of pride, also vanity, is purple. When I think of pride I see mirrors, peacocks and divine beauty. Only problem is, I don't posses the last one, so I had to beautify this look in other ways, therefore the ornamented eyecorners.

As I said, peacocks are very proud animals, and I wanted to bring in their element with the feathers. Otherwise, it is what I see as glamour gone overboard. There is the defined crease (indicating the hard surface of proud people), the huge lashes (mystery and shelter), a shitload of glitter if you care to look for it in various places and then of course the squiggly patterns and the rhinestones to make it look unearthy.

The seven deadly sins are now over and done and you can find them all under this tag: 7 deadly sins. I'll do a wrap up post soon as well.

Until then ^^

Acid Springtime

SOOOOOOOO spring is finally coming around. Extremely fun to come home from the land of snow to discover that there is still a gigantic pile of snow in our backyard -.-
Anyhow, the trip went well, I survived with only a few bruises from trying to snowboard. But now I'm ridiculously stressed out over a bunch of school stuff, even though there's only 5 weeks left.

Heeeeeere's what I did in the spirit of... it getting warmer? Idk. Spring on acid. I think it's pretty self explanatory.

Got any questions? About this look, about my life, about the female brain and how it isn't supposed to work? Go ahead, ask 'em.

Otherwise,

Fantasies

I love everything fantasy related. I love imagining things myself, I love watching/listening to/reading other people's fantasies. Mostly I quite dislike my brain, but sometimes it goes off wandering to god knows where, creating the most bizarre scenarios. In those times I actually enjoy sharing heads with my brain.

While watching the Breaking Dawn pt 2 commentary version today, I started playing around with eyeliner. First it was just a settle wing with a spade on the lid for decoration. Then things started happening underneath the eye.. And before I knew it, I had quite a mess going on.
I wasn't sure if it was worth anything or not, but I added false lashes and thought what the hell, it's not like I'm getting executed if you don't like it. .... Right?

I did the queen of hearts lips as well, but my face was being super unphotogenic, so no fullface picture today.

hope you like it c:

Day and Night

Hello lovely people of the internet. I have a feeling that red hair has a really good effect on me. I feel a lot more... more. idk I've probably just inhaled too much hairspray.

Speaking of hairspray, I decided to do one of these daytime to nighttime looks, where you turn whatever you were wearing that day into something more.

So here's what I wore today (Friday). Very simple shadowing in the crease and a shimmery beige on the rest of the lid. And finishing off with some liner and mascara.

Day                                                                                                                Night

What you wanna do is darken everything. Darken your eye shadow, darken your eye brows, darken your cheek color. And add a lot more liner. Like, a lot a lot. And, depending on what you're going for, either a dark lip color or just a nude one. I was wearing a leather west, so I didn't want to look too dominatrix, so I went with the lighter option.

And that's it.

Until later glitterbutts! ^^

Redhead

Yes people. I finally dyed my entire head orange.

I did it myself and this was the dye I used. L'Oreal Paris Féria 7.4 Mango Intense Copper.
It has an after treatment that's supposed to last for 6 weeks and it smells so amazing!

I actually think it turned out brighter than the package had promised.
But omg I love it so much.
It does crazy stuff in the sun :D

My head is doing good right now (hair, llama hat) ^^ On the outside that is. Inside it's still total chaos.

Until later bubblebutts!

Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath

I hate you. I hate myself. I hate everyone. Somebody is going to die.

Ah. The sin of wrath.

Uncontrollable rage. Anger of such greatness that it leads to violence and destructiveness.
"Love of justice perverted to revenge and spite" - Dante.

I had one thought in mind: Seeing red. When anger reaches a level of almost-madness.
Without further explanation, here's what I did.

I did sort of a mask, covered the eyes and temples completely. Color scheme is red and black. The colors of burning destruction and pain.

Details: The waterline is red, showing how utterly full of rage the person is, and the color is escaping out of the body through the lower lashes.
We have a very defined shape, no softness here. And the flared out lashes are there to make it more feminine. Didn't want to look like the devil....

Took some time to get up, but here it is. Hope you liked it. ^^

Until next sin ;)

Seven Deadly Sins: Gluttony

A person suffering from a thirst for life, trying to satisfy an infinite longing with finite things.

Gluttony is overeating. Eating more than required. Overconsumption of food and drinks to the point of waste. (If you've read Catching Fire, think Victory tour party in the Capitol) Only concentrating on the needs of the body, ignoring the consequences of endless voracity.

This is fairly appropriate since all I've done this winter break is eat.

To translate into modern language, gluttony is the reason to and the nemesis of anyone who is overweight or has a drinking problem. Anyone who can't control how much, when, how often or what they eat.

ANYwho, on to the look. I thought; foody colors, actual food and looking like I am gluttony personified.

The main lid color being orange, I took it all the way up to the brow to emphasize the excessiveness of the sin. There's some dark brown in the crease and a lot under the eye. Something a bit deviant are the sprinkles I glued to the lashes. I mean, why not? ^^

On the other eye I actually put melted chocolate in the outer corner and let it run down. As if I am so full that there isn't room for any more and it has to find a way out. Same goes with the corner of my mouth. And the lips are just luscious, aren't they :3

A lot of blush and bronser to make my cheeks look edible. Yes, I glued marshmallows and crushed Marianne to my temple and forehead. That's just what I do, all right?

Until next sin

Seven Deadly Sins: Greed

Oh it's been a while since I've done a deadly sin. I guess I've just been a good girl. hah nope not me. I've just been really busy with school etc. Enough excuses, this is greed!

Greed is one of the sins with a deadly desire. In this case the desire to possess an excess of wealth and valuable objects. You have no intentions of making anything of your possessions, you just need to know they're yours. And that you own more than others. It's funny how this applies to almost everyone nowadays. Except nuns...
This is the one that's been the biggest bitch to me int the past. Not anymore though.

Originally I was going to paint my entire face gold, as if I had been touched by King Midas... Didn't work though. Just made me look extremely sweaty. So I went for my second option: the two faces of greed. You have your polished, pretty face, only showing a bit of the glam you own. And the "real you", reflecting the thirst for money you really have.
I ended up only liking the "polished" side of my face. So that's what I'm showing you now! :)

I photoshopped the shit out of my eyes to make them look like gold.

Everything is shimmery or straight on glitter, resembling the life of the greedy. The green element underneath the eye is supposed to represent money (bills, you know). And I couldn't not add the lashes and the rhinestones. I mean, if you're going for glam you gotta go all the way.
You can kind of see that half of my face is in fact golden, but just think of that as the dark, secret identity of a greedy person.

Until next sin!

Ps. I didn't dye my entire head orange, just the front with a super permanent dye. The rest of the hair is basically my natural color but shinier.

Sugar Skull

Day of the Dead, DĂa de los Muertos, All Souls day, call it whatever you want. I had to at least attempt to do a sugar skull around this time of the year.
They are so pretty and always very personal and unique.

I think mine turned out pretty good considering I don't do masks that often :]

Yeeees I used the same white lenses to add a bit of hollowness to the eyes.
Looking back though, I wish would have added a few more decorations. But hey, maybe next time.
The lips are my favorite part ^^

Until later sugarbutts!

Death by Spiders

I went to our school's Halloween party as dead/covered in spiders and lace.
(I had originally planned to go as Emily from Corpse Bride. I even got a blue wig. But decided at the last moment that it was a bit overkill.)

Alright, so we got pale face, dark eyes, white contact lenses, eyelashes, spiderwebs and spiders. I did do some patterned stuff on my temples and neck but you can't see them in this picture.
And this is a pretty lace dress I'd gotten from a friend, with some fishnet stockings and lace gloves.

Am I now a slut on Halloween? A dead slut :D

The party pretty much sucked, so we decided that scaring people at McDonald's would be a lot more fun.

Seven Deadly Sins: Envy

I want her hair. I want her boyfriend. I wanna be as pretty as she is. Maybe if I made her uglier, people would see me as pretty too?

Next one in the series is envy. Envy is, similarly to Lust, a sin of desire. The desire of another person's possessions or qualities.

"Sorrow for another's good"

This is one of the most dangerous deadly sins, because envious people usually take out their jealousy on them whom they are jealous of. You want something that belongs to someone else so bad, that you'd hurt them to get it.
Envy, to me, is lying, cheating, using every poisonous method you know to get what you want from the other person. Therefore the color of envy is green. Also snakes are often associated with envy (plotting behind someone's back).

I used around 8 different greens to create the lid and brow, all from my Coastal Scents palette. I wanted the eye shadow to go pretty far away from the eye, spreading like the venom that jealousy is.
Green eyebrows, green cheek contour and green on the lips. Basically, I just wanted as much green as possible on my face without looking like an alien. :D

Details: I didn't want false lashes with this one. I felt like they would have glamed up the look too much, made it too pretty when it's supposed to be ugly, reflecting the thoughts of the envious.
The concentration of color underneath the brows gives it a more serious, dangerous look.
The criss-cross pattern going out from the brow represents the snake element as well as the shadow/venom spreading.

Until next sin ;)

Seven Deadly Sins: Lust

Here are a few really good descriptions of lust.

"Lust or Lechery is the intense desire of the body. It is usually thought of as excessive sexual wants, however the word was originally a general term for desire. Therefore Lust could involve the intense desire of money, fame or power as well"

I had the sexy part in mind when creating this look. ^^ Lust is easily confused with love. In love you want whats best for them, in lust you want what feels best for you. But how is lust a deadly sin, you may wonder? Well, if you think about it, this is how a lot of relationships end. In someone giving in to the temptation of lust and cheating. When only thinking about their own wants and not other's needs.

When I think of "lust" I think passion, sweat and fire (hot, burning blood...)
And someone whispering "I want you right now."
The main part being the desire of the blood. Therefore the colors of lust for me, are pink and dark red.

The main thing to keep in mind, is to keep everything soft yet strong, smoky but not too dark.
Dark eyebrows are easier to flirt with, so if your eyebrows are invisible like mine, feel free to fill them in with a darker color. False lashes are a must. You are trying to seduce someone here, you have to go all the way if you want to get some. ;)
For the rest of the face, in addition to the diffused, sultry eyes, I did pink lips and a lot of pink blush to give the face a bit of a glow.

So um, I have the house to myself tonight...
;]

I love the filters of a webcam. Although I feel like a facebook slut/attention whore posting this picture...

Until next sin...

Marylin Monroe look

So last week was 50 years since Marylin Monroe died. As the make-up junkie I am I decided to mimic her look for  one night.

Here's my inspirational pictures. She wears the same very classic 50s look in almost every picture. So that was ofcourse what I went for. Here are some things to think of if you wanna do the same thing :)

You need the most extreme false lashes that you can find. And an eyeliner that you'll wing out. That's it for the eyes really. If you want to you can do some contouring in the crease and under the eye and highlight the inner corner and waterline.
I recommend darkening your eyebrows quite a bit too. The flash is washing out some color off mine.
For the lips, any red works. If you have thinner lips you need to line outside of your natural lips, cause she had really full lips. Even I went a bit over on the upper lip and I have fairly full lips..

The hair needs to be well styled. Either curls or big waves. If you have very long hair you could pin half of it up under the rest of your hair. And I'm sorry brown haired girls (or boys!) You're gonna have to get hold of some blond hair cuz the Marylin look aint gonna work without that.
And a very important detail is the beauty spot over the lip on the cheek. I recommend using an eyeliner pencil. Mainly brown and just a tiny bit of black, so if you mess up it won't be all over the place.

Sorry to ruin the tease in the first pic, but I am wearing a shirt. I just pushed the sleeves down ;)
